About Rod Brewer
A career grounded in public service and Elk Grove community involvement.
Rod Brewer is a respected public affairs leader, elected official, and community advocate with more than three decades of experience spanning government, public policy, energy, and nonprofit service. Professionally, Rod serves as a Government Relations Advisor for Southern California Edison, where he works at the intersection of public policy, stakeholder engagement, and government affairs. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation as a collaborative leader who brings together business, government, and community interests to address complex challenges.
Earlier in his career, he held senior policy and legislative roles in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the California Legislature, advising elected leaders on issues including economic development, public safety, transportation, energy, and utilities.
Rod has maintained a strong commitment to community service throughout his career. He has served on the board of the Elk Grove Food Bank, was appointed by the Elk Grove City Council to serve as the city’s representative to the Regional Human Rights/Fair Housing Commission advisory board, worked with community leaders to revive the All-American Soap Box Derby in Elk Grove, and currently serves in various civic and regional leadership roles, including appointments connected to transportation and community development initiatives. Additionally, Rod served as a board member on the Capital Black Chamber of Commerce, supporting economic opportunity and business growth throughout the Sacramento region.
A proud graduate of the University of California, Davis, Rod earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science-Public Service.
